Later Wednesday, Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak swiftly shut down that notion. "He's playing," Kubiak said when asked about that idea. Kubiak also said Jeanty is "starting to feel a lot of better." Kubiak suggested that Jeanty will practice fully this week as the Raiders prepare to host the 4-1 Buffalo Bills on Sunday as they try to snap a two-game losing streak. UPDATE: Jeanty practiced fully and the ankle injury was taken off the injury report.
Jeanty was a game-day decision Sunday at New England after he missed practice time last week with a foot injury. He suffered an ankle injury in training camp. He has not missed any playing time this season.
Meanwhile, as expected, starting defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway won't practice Wednesday because he's in the concussion protocol. His status for Sunday's game is in question. Kubiak said the team hopes wide receiver Jalen Nailor returns to practice Thursday with hopes of playing Sunday. He missed the New England game due to a concussion.
Also, the team opened the 21-day window to return from the injured reserve for deep backup tight end Carter Runyon. He has been out since early in training camp.
Rookie offensive lineman Trey Zuhn returned to practice in a limited fashion after missing Week 5 with a knee injury.
