On the latest episode ofPiers Morgan Uncensored, Brand addressed everything from his pivot to right-wing podcasting in 2021, to him becoming a Christian, to themultiple allegations of sexual assault and rapethat he has been battling in U.K. courts since 2023. TheForgetting Sarah Marshallstar has denied all allegations against him.

At one point during the interview, Morgan brought upBrand's court hearing in February, during which he pleaded not guilty to two charges of sexual assault, including one of rape. The actor could be seen holding a copy of the Bible during the hearing, which he also brought with him for his interview with Morgan.

"Can I go back to asking you a question about your Bible?" Morgan asked Brand. "Is that the one you took into court? What was your thinking of taking it into court? And you were seen looking at some passages — what were the relevant passages?"

Brand thanked Morgan for the question, noting that the passage came from the Book of Isiah, and began flipping through the Bible, muttering to himself about needing to be "chill." However, he spent over 90 seconds attempting to find the passage he'd previously referenced as Morgan sat in silence, shooting awkward looks at the camera.

The comedian finally gave up. "I can't actually find the verse that I had that day," he said, "but this is good enough. This is from Isiah 12."

It didn't take long for clips of Brand's fruitless search to begin circulating on social media, with users mocking the exchange and calling it "painful."

"This is, hands down, the most uncomfortable two minutes I've watched in a long time," oneuser wrote on X. "Russell Brand is asked to identify a Bible verse relevant to his, um, legal battles and spends a few minutes clumsily thumbing through scripture and arrives at nothing."

Another user wrote, "There should be a class act lawsuit against Russell Brand for making anyone suffer through this awkward moment. 2 mins of my life I will never get back."

"This two minutes of paper shuffling is significantly funnier than any movie he has ever made,"another X user wrote.

"No clip has ever captured the essence of born-again Christians quite like this,"another wrote.

Others speculated that Brand had made the moment cringe-inducing on purpose. "You snobs can't appreciate that Russell Brand just totally reinvented prop comedy,"one user wrote.

Morgan himself got in on the jokes,sharing a photo of him and Brand during the interview. "I knew my Russell Brand interview would be an interesting experience when he insisted on saying a prayer for both of us before we started," the TV host wrote.

Brand has been embroiled in a number of lawsuits in the U.K. He wasaccused of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse by four women in 2023, followinga joint investigationbyThe Times,The Sunday Times, and Channel 4's investigative seriesDispatches. The incidents allegedly occurred between 1999 and 2005. Just two months after the bombshell investigation made waves, he wasaccused of sexually assaulting an actresson the set of the movieArthur.

The actor refuted the first raft of allegations in the days following the 2023 investigation, perNBC News, and has continued to deny all the allegations made against him.

Ten Years On, Beyoncé’s Yellow Revenge Dress Is Still a Masterpiece

I remember how I felt the first time I watched Beyoncé’s 2016 visual albumLemonade. I curled up alone in a chair in my bedroom about two feet from the TV (I moved closer after the first five minutes, wanting to be moreinit). I was rapt. I couldn’t remember a time when I felt so emotionally engrossed in a score of music. This was cathartic, radical, rebellious, romantic, political, and personal. I was watching a woman grapple with love and loss, with deceit, power games, and fame. It was also a masterpiece of modern fashion. Every fur coat, hoodie, Gucci monogram set, pinafore, and turn-of-the-century lace bodysuit said something important. This was the album that made “slay” go mainstream and Beyoncé’s clothes underscored that idea of embracing unbridled, unapologetic confidence.

“Hold Up,” a pop-reggae anthem on the album, is peak slay. AsLemonadeturns ten years old today, I keep coming back to the searingly glorious image of Beyoncé emerging from a flooded building, then skipping down the gritty, city sidewalk in platform heels while wielding a baseball bat, a big fat smile across her flawless face. She swings the bat around while prancing by bodegas and stoops, singing lines like “What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you.” She smashes the windows of a car while belting out “You let a good love go to waste.” And she’s wearing a mustard-colored, tiered ruffle gown from Roberto Cavalli, its sheer wispy fabric swirling and whirling as she knocks off the top of a fire hydrant.

The dress (which became an instant meme, with fans calling it the ultimate revenge dress) was designed by Cavalli’s creative director at the time, Peter Dundas, who first showed it on the Fall 2016 runway in Milan. “She always transforms the clothes into something much bigger,” Dundas said over the phone last week. Now helming his own brand, Dundas, and doing some design consulting, he mentioned that he has been collaborating with Beyoncé since the early 2000s, but this moment felt particularly kismet. It was actually B. Akerlund, wife ofLemonadedirector Jonas Akerlund, who chose the yellow dress for “Hold Up.” As Dundas recalls, it was by chance that the inspiration behind his Fall 2016 collection fit within the realm of Beyoncé’s narrative for this particular song. “It was very much about the combination of these independent creatures,” he said. “We called the collection ‘The Witches.’ They were pagan, and they were strong and sensual, and there was this unapologetic femininity as well.”

Though much of the press and the Beyhive referred to the look as classically bohemian in style, Dundas still sees it a little bit differently. “When you think of bohemian, it’s also this emotional independence as well, which I think is really important. It’s about being unafraid of softness. That’s how I started the collection—thinking of almost this pagan spirit, independent from anything, but also with a power.” He added, “I think the dress possesses the same duality. It’s fluid and fragile, but it’s also very commanding, both because of the color and the volume.”

If Princess Diana got us talking aboutthe revenge dressin the ‘90s (hers was a slinky little black, off-the-shoulder dress designed by Christina Stambolian, and she clutched a prim black evening bag instead of a bat), we have Queen Bey to thank for making the concept go viral in the age of social media. Clips of that fluttery yellow frock have been hashtagged and regrammed millions of times over, often from women expressing rightful anger or frustration or celebrating a triumph. Kim Kardashian paid homage to the video in her showAll’s Fair, while a number of comedians have lovingly parodied the video. The October afterLemonadewas released, the Halloween season was packed with yellow dress costumes, wooden bats included.

The imagery of “Hold Up” captured something visceral and emotional about the revenge dress, something arguably more action-oriented than Princess Di’s photo op. That yellow gown physically flounced its way into the culture and the psyches of women everywhere because it said you stood by Beyoncé, but also yourself, no matter what. Has your partner cheated on you? Throw on a black bra, a glamorous see-through gown, big jewelry, and grab a heavy object. As Beyoncé sang, “Look in the mirror.” Let him know what’s up.

Beyond the dichotomy of the pretty silhouette and destructive accessory, the dress's color played a big role in the visual power of “Hold Up.” Yellow has long been a signature for Dundas, who says he’s always been drawn to the fact that “it’s solar, it’s positive, it’s strong.” He believes that it carries a distinct energy, one that feels and looks vibrant but has a softness to it as well. That combination matched Beyoncé’s free, unfiltered vibe in the video. “I think she’s always had this incredible ability to embody both vulnerability and power at the same time,” Dundas said. “And when that functions together with the clothes, that’s golden.” He added, “When you say it was a revenge dress, I think it was more about reclaiming power.”

So is Beyoncé’s yellow Roberto Cavalli dress the most powerful revenge dress of all time? No. It’s a slay.

During the Friday, April 24, show of the pop star's It's Not That Deep Tour, she brought out the Canadian musician, 35, to perform a duet of “Iris” by theGoo Goo Dolls.

Video captured Lovato, 33, onstage at Madison Square Garden, belting out the lyrics of the 1998 hit song with her husband as the audience joined in on the sweet moment.

The “Cool for the Summer” singer and Jutes, whose real name is Jordan Lutes, have been fans of the song for years, even having Goo Goo Dolls frontmanJohn Rzeznikperform it at their May 2025California wedding.

Almost a year before the couple tied the knot in a romantic California ceremony, Lovato appeared onToday with Hoda and Jennaand shared her dream scenario for her big day.

"I would love the Goo Goo Dolls to be able to perform 'Iris' at my wedding as a first dance," she said in the February 2024interview. "That would be so special and so incredible."

That wish came true on May 25, 2025.

During an interview on theZach Sang Showin December, Jutes opened up about the "unreal" experience of having Rzeznik perform live at their wedding.

“That's like one of the coolest things,” Jutes said. “That was, in the moment, me and Demi were looking at each other, and I was just like, ‘What's going on right now?!' I was like, ‘This is the most iconic song ever. He's right there, and it's for us!'"

"Icon. Such a legend for doing that," he added of Rzeznik, 60. "Forever grateful.”

For him, having the superstar sing the hit song on an acoustic guitar was like "a movie moment."

Lovato also gushed about the performance, tellingVogueshortly after the ceremony that having Rzeznik there for her and Jutes' special day was "surreal."

“This was a pinch-us moment. It's our favorite song and has so much meaning to both of us," she said.

The band also paid tribute to the newlyweds with a sweet post to social media, showing a black-and-white photo of the couple having their first dance with Rzeznik playing his guitar in the background.

“It was an absolute pleasure attending the wedding of@ddlovato&@jutesmusicand performing 'Iris' during their first dance together as husband & wife ❤️💍,” the Goo Goo Dolls' officialInstagramaccount captioned the post.

Rzeznik wrote the song for the 1998 filmCity of Angels. It is also featured on their albumDizzy Up the Girland has become a staple of their live concerts.

Jimmy Jam remembers some friendly competition betweenMichael JacksonandJanet Jackson.

When talking to PEOPLE at the Hollywood premiere ofMichaelon April 20, the songwriter and producer, 66, admits that making "Scream" with the siblings was “interesting” because of the family dynamic.

“When we did ‘Scream,' it was really interesting because Janet always felt like she was just guesting on Michael's song," he says. "She didn't ever think of it as a duo. And she kind of treated it like that. She just kind of said, 'Whatever my brother wants to do... this is the key he wants to do it in, these are the words he wants to say.' "

"She was very much deferring to what he wanted to do,” he adds.

In fact, Jimmy Jam says the siblings recorded their vocals in different places, with Michael recording in New York while his younger sister recorded in Minneapolis.

“When Michael heard Janet's vocal, he said, ‘Where'd you do that vocal?'" he recalls. "We said, ‘Minneapolis.' He said, ‘I'm going to come to Minneapolis.' "

"So I felt a little bit of the competitiveness, which was cool,” Jimmy Jam shares.

Ultimately, he says, Michael was “really happy" to work with Janet, 59.

“He wanted to see her do well. She wanted to see him do well, and that happened and it was captured beautifully on video," he adds. "Somebody just asked me my favorite Michael Jackson video and I said, 'Scream.' "

The song, which was released in 1995, peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 17 total weeks on the chart. The single and video also went on to earn several major accolades, including a 1996 Grammy for Best Music Video, Short Form, and a record 11 nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Jimmy Jam tells PEOPLE he still looks back and thinks the music video is “beautifully done.”

In 2024, Janet told theBBCthat making that song with Michael helped her better understand what her brother was going through at the time.

"Mike and I wrote that song in New York, in his apartment," she recalled. "So [I relive] that whole journey, listening to him sing it [and remembering] what he was going through at that time. And just me being his little sister, always by his side, and being that support system. That's always been my role."

Janet and Michael released “Scream” and the famous black-and-white music video in 1995, soon after Michael settled a 1994 lawsuit that charged him with abusing a child, according toThe New York Times. MPs push for ‘forever chemicals’ in uniforms and frying pans to be banned

A group of MPs are calling for thegovernmentto ban a group ofsynthetic chemicalsfrom being used in school uniforms, food packaging, andcookware.

In a report into the risks ofPFAS, theEnvironmental Audit Committeeurged the government to introduce restrictions on the non-essential use of the chemicals and begin a phased restriction from 2027.

Commonly known as “forever chemicals”, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a family of more than 10,000 man-made substances, which have been associated with an increased risk ofcancers, immune suppression, and fertility and development problems, the report said.

There has not been extensive research into the effects of all PFAS, but some types of the chemicals have been evaluated as carcinogenic.

Labour MPToby Perkins, who chairs the committee, said: “From frying pans to fire extinguishers, PFAS are now central to everyday and some lifesaving products, and nearly all of us will have some level of PFAS in our bodies.

“But evidence we heard throughout our inquiry suggests that our dependence on PFAS has come with a cost to the environment, and perhaps to human health too.”

The highly resistant qualities of the chemicals mean they are often used by military and emergency services, as well as in household products such as cosmetics and frying pans. It also means they can build up in the environment and in people’s bodies for decades, the report said.

The committee also called for the government to take a stronger approach to regulating PFAS to ensure that companies polluting waterways and soil are paying for it to be cleaned up.

It recommended a national remediation fund be established for communities dealing with high levels of pollution, and invest in technologies that can destroy the chemicals safely.

The government published a PFAS action plan in February that set out how it will understand the sources of the chemicals, tackle how they move around in the environment, and act to reduce public and environmental exposure.

Thursday’s report said that rather than waiting for proof that a chemical is harmful before banning it, the government should take a precautionary approach to approving new PFAS, and companies should instead need approval before they introduce a new PFAS substance.

A spokesperson from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said: “The persistent nature of ‘forever chemicals’ poses a long-term challenge for the nation's ecosystems and health.

“The first ever PFAS Plan shows the decisive action we are taking to better understand and tackle the sources of these chemicals, including through better guidance and monitoring, tougher rules on their use and support for transitioning to safer alternatives.

“Our approach is to work in partnership with businesses, regulators and local communities as we reduce exposure for the public and the environment.”
