The most significant presidential announcement in human history might be just around the corner.
Dan Farah, the director behind the explosive documentary The Age of Disclosure (out Friday), tells Entertainment Weekly he believes the release of his film could lead to the President of the United States publicly revealing the existence of non-human intelligent life.
"I think it's only a matter of time before the release of this film is followed by a sitting president stepping to the podium and telling the world, 'We're not alone in the universe,'" he says. "It's the most significant moment a leader could possibly have."
Through shocking testimony from 34 U.S. Government, military, and intelligence community officials — including former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, current Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Senator Kristen Gillibrand — the film explores what many of the interview subjects describe as an "80-year global cover-up of non-human intelligent life and a secret war among major nations to reverse-engineer advanced technology of non-human origin."
In the film, interview subjects, including Secretary of State Rubio, also explain how senior politicians, even including the president, might be kept in the dark about such a momentous secret.

Though President Trump has expressed skepticism about UFOs in the past, telling Joe Rogan in 2024 that he's "never been a believer," he has also shown interest in the subject and vowed "radical transparency" across government.
In 2020, he signed a COVID-19 relief and government funding bill that included a stipulation requiring U.S. intelligence agencies to provide congressional intelligence committees with an unclassified report covering Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, a.k.a. UAPs. (An unclassified report released in 2021 concluded that of 144 UAP incidents dating back to 2004, all but one defied explanation.)
Farah says that since finishing the documentary, which premiered at SXSW in March, he has learned from "people who are in my film and sources outside of my film" that Trump "has become aware of the base facts and has his team all over trying to learn everything that he needs to know so we can decide a course of action."
He adds, "I know the movie's on his radar a hundred percent, and look, President Trump said on the campaign trail that he intended to declassify what the government knows about this topic."
The White House did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

"I really hope that the release of this documentary leads to the U.S. government finally revealing everything it legally can to the American public regarding UAP and nonhuman intelligent life," Farah says. "For too long, the public has blatantly been lied to, kept in the dark, and misled with a really sophisticated disinformation campaign. And I think we're now at a tipping point where not only does the public deserve to know the truth, but it's really essential because the stakes have never been higher. And the stakes impact not only everyone in the United States, but everyone in the world."
The Age of Disclosure crash-lands in select U.S. theaters and is available to stream worldwide on Prime Video on Nov. 21. It's also now available for digital purchase pre-order on Prime Video in the U.S.
