Justin Baldoni can be seen making a joke that has drawn criticism in newly unsealed footage from the *It Ends With Us *set.

Amid the filmmaker's ongoing and contentious legal battle with his costar Blake Lively, a new set video shows Baldoni saying the word "sexy" in Lively's direction while preparing to shoot a bustling interior scene alongside their costars, Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj. Baldoni then turns to the camera, rolls his eyes, and says, "Sorry, I missed the sexual harassment training."

The video was first unveiled in a Nov. 13 motion for summary judgment filed by Baldoni's production company Wayfarer Studios. In a copy of the filing obtained by **, the company characterized the interaction in that video as "entirely unremarkable," noting that "Lively was not scantily clad, but dressed in an oversized fleece 'onesie.' Nor was this anything that might remotely approach flirtation — rather, both she and Baldoni were working at the time, surrounded by actors and crew. Baldoni's expression was neutral and not ogling or suggestive. On top of that, Baldoni apologized if his remark was inappropriate, and Lively responded by saying 'All good.'"

The latest development in the legal fight that has consumed the lives of both of its litigants for nearly a year sees a broad swath of individuals and entities on the Baldoni side asking a court to rule in their favor without proceeding to trial.

The trial is set to commence in March 2026, but the 73-page filing from Baldoni's team hopes that, "When viewed in context, no reasonable juror could find that the handful of comments and miscommunications Lively has mustered amounts to sexual harassment." Earlier this month, Baldoni killed his own $400 million countersuit against Lively by declining to file an amended complaint.

Lively kicked off the saga last December when she accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, and of helping to foment an online harassment campaign against the actress. Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds the following month, and has consistently denied Lively's claims.

This isn't the first time Baldoni has released an on-set video he hopes will bolster his innocence.

In January 2025, Baldoni's team released a video of the actors slow dancing on the *It Ends With Us *set and seemingly speaking out of character with one another that they claimed directly contradict claims Lively made in a previous filing about the interaction. Lively offers her opinion on how the scene should be blocked and shot, can be heard joking, "I'm probably getting spray tan on you," to which Baldoni replies, laughing, "It smells good." ****

*It Ends With Us *is an adaptation of the 2016 novel by Colleen Hoover. The story follows the attempt of protagonist Lily Bloom (Lively in the film) to reckon with the abusive nature of her relationship with neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni).

After Lively's initial complaint was made public, Hoover came out in support of the star, addressing her in a social media post that read in part, "You have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met."
